The Sussex Cancer Fund are delighted to have purchased a heated water bath for the Radiography Team at the Sussex Cancer Centre. The Bath will be used to mould the Thermo Plastic Material used to make the masks used in the treatment of Sarcomas (i.e. for the treatment of leg, foot and arm cancers).
The bath was presented to Mahesh Bhandari & Alex Goodman, Radiotherapy Dosimetrists at the centre together with some new tongs. The bath and tongs will allow the team to heat and manipulate the material to make ‘masks’ to fit each individual patient and remove it safely ready for use in radiotherapy treatment.
