What we do and our Strategy

Sussex Cancer Fund has a long history of working alongside the NHS to improve the experience of people affected by cancer across Sussex.

We fund practical and wellbeing support, specialist equipment, improvements to treatment environments and high-quality cancer research, helping bring comfort, dignity and better experiences to local people when it matters most. At the heart of all of this has been a simple principle: to use the funds entrusted to us where they can make a meaningful difference to people affected by cancer across Sussex.

Our Strategy 2026–2029 sets out the next stage in our development. Over the next three years, we will work towards becoming a truly Sussex-wide charity, with transparent and evidence-led approaches to funding, strong partnerships, sustainable income and robust governance. At the same time, we will retain what has always made Sussex Cancer Fund special: our ability to listen, work collaboratively and respond to the needs of patients and the NHS.

We will strengthen how we fund and measure the impact of services and research, develop sustainable and diverse sources of income and continue to build strong partnerships with NHS teams, researchers, supporters and communities across Sussex.

Throughout this next chapter, our focus remains simple: improving the experience and outcomes of people affected by cancer across Sussex.
