Sheila Hotton a resident from Shoreham-by-Sea has been raising money through growing and selling plants for Sussex Cancer Fund. Sheila has had a stall at the pop-up event at Wistons Tea Gardens, once a month but the majority of her plant sales are from her garden in Shoreham. Sheila grows a range of garden plants, mainly herbaceous perennials, and has them for sale with an honesty box on her front lawn. The money raised so far is going to buy a Back Massager chair designed to give an invigorating personalised massage, ideal for patients receiving chemotherapy for up to 8 hours at a time.
Sheila says ” My husband, Rod, and I have always enjoyed gardening and propagating plants. We started off raising plants for friends and family but many more people were interested and thought this would be a great way to raise some money for charity. We have raised money for many charities in the past but after hearing about the great work the Sussex Cancer Fund carries out, we have now made them our dedicated charity”.
We would like to thank Sheila and Rod for their recent cheque and hope their venture is going to be a growing success!
