This Easter, something big is going to hatch!

This Easter Weekend (Monday the 18th) the fabulous members of the Littlehampton Jet Ski Club are getting together to raise funds for the Sussex Cancer Fund. The team is riding from Littlehampton to Brighton Pier, if this wasn’t going to be spectacular enough they are doing it in Easter fancy dress. So if you fancy watching a gang of Easter Chicks & Bunnies as they take to the waves, get down to the seafront and show your support.

The club has held many fundraising events over the years but this year they chose the Sussex Cancer Fund because two members of the club were diagnosed with cancer in the last year.

When asked about the Sussex cancer Fund they said “We are very grateful for the incredible support given to us by the local NHS and the charities that support it including the Sussex Cancer Fund. In 2021 LJSC had two members who unfortunately developed Cancer which required treatment and are thankfully in remission. Having seen the incredible work firsthand that the Sussex Cancer Fund does, the club wanted to help fundraise for the charity and help it on the rollout of some of its services into the West of Sussex as well as supporting what they already do for East Sussex. “

The event will take place on 18th of April and is very dependent on the weather forecast, but are hoping to leave Littlehampton between 10.00 and 10.30am but they need to ensure safety on the journey over as it gets a bit choppy typically at the half-way point. The journey if it is flat calm can be circa 25-30 minutes with some of the skis reaching 62-70+ mph!

The team will try and stay as close to the shoreline as safety allows from Littlehampton to Worthing and then Hove lagoon to Palace Pier so that as many spectators as possible will be able to see the team.

The club will be riding on Easter Monday (18th April), leaving Littlehampton between 10.00 and 10.30 am, keep an eye on their Facebook page for more updates.
