Jean Tremlett, Senior Radiographer is walking 26 miles over two days to raise vital funds for Cancer Patients in Sussex.
Jean’s Route
On Saturday her route will take her from the Sussex Cancer Centre, up to the Brighton Racecourse and then crossing Warren Road, through Bevindean, across Bevendean Down, then under the A27. From here through Stammer Park and then up to Ditchling Beacon, east along the South Downs’ Way, over the A27 and back to the top of Woodingdean and then back to the Racecourse finally retracing hers steps to the Sussex Cancer Centre.
On Sunday she will again leave from the Sussex Cancer Centre and rejoin the South Downs’ Way to the River Ouse at South Ease then return via Telscombe Village and Balsdean, Woodingdean, then to the Racecourse again and back to the Sussex Cancer Centre. Wow!
Jean’s role at BSUH is to safely and accurately deliver Radiotherapy and to support patients and their friends and families during this time. Jean works in all 3 Radiotherapy centres in Sussex, at the County, Preston Park and Eastbourne. Jean is interested in research and educating student Radiographers as well as other health care professionals and support staff.
Jean said ” The Sussex Cancer Fund supports patients and staff in Sussex but also helps fund research enabling us to develop better and more efficient treatments. Through my job as a Radiographer and by fundraising for SCF I am proud to be helping cancer patients now and in the future.”
Please give Jean a wave and cheer of support should you see her on her walking marathon tour of Brighton and surrounding areas. If you would like to join Jean for some of the walk or would like to pop up along her route to give Jean some food and water to keep her going and also show their support they would be very welcome.
