Charity Cricket Day in Memory of Maggie Smith – Saturday 21st September

On Saturday, we are excited to attend the 2nd St James & Montefiore Club charity cricket day in memory of Maggie Smith, a valued member of the team who passed away from cancer last year. This event is a heartfelt tribute to Maggie and aims to raise essential funds for the Sussex Cancer Fund, who provided her with invaluable support throughout her journey.

The day will be filled with activities, starting with cricket games from 11am to around 6pm. We’ll have the bar open all day and a burger van on site to keep everyone refreshed. Following the matches, we’ll have a raffle draw and an auction featuring some fantastic items, including:

A signed Gordon Banks ‘Save of the Century’ framed picture
A signed Sussex CC shirt
A St James’s club logo’d helmet (adult medium)
A signed Sussex shirt (unframed)
A bottle of Macallan Whiskey
A £200 John Lewis Gift card

Some auction items will have reserve values, so be sure to come prepared to bid!

The Sussex Cancer Fund is committed to improving the lives of cancer patients in Sussex by providing vital equipment and services, and supporting local research to advance understanding and outcomes. We are immensely grateful to the St James’s cricket club and all supporters for their dedication to this cause.

We encourage everyone to join us for a day of cricket and community spirit. If you’re unable to attend, please consider making a donation via the QR code. Your support makes a significant difference, and together, we can continue to help those in need.
