A Brighter Space for the Team at Park Centre for Breast Care
At the Sussex Cancer Fund, we know that creating supportive environments is about more than medical treatment alone. The spaces where NHS staff can pause, recharge and take a moment for themselves are important too.
We’re delighted to share that the staff room at the Park Centre for Breast Care has recently been refreshed, helping create a brighter and more welcoming space for the incredible team who care for patients every day.
The improvements include new chairs and tables to make the room more comfortable and inviting, along with a brand new dishwasher replacing the old broken one. While these may seem like simple additions, they can make a real difference to staff wellbeing during long and demanding days.
The teams at the Park Centre for Breast Care provide compassionate support to people going through appointments, investigations, treatment and difficult conversations every single day. Their work is skilled, emotional and often incredibly busy. Having somewhere calm and practical to sit down, enjoy a proper break and spend time with colleagues matters more than many people realise.
Moments to rest, refuel and connect with others can help reduce stress, improve morale and support wellbeing across the team. In turn, that helps staff continue delivering the very best care to patients and families across Sussex.
These improvements were made possible thanks to the kindness and generosity of one of our wonderful supporters, Angela.
Angela’s support has helped create a space where staff can feel valued and cared for too, and we are incredibly grateful for her generosity.
Projects like this are a lovely reminder that donations to the Sussex Cancer Fund support people in many different ways. Alongside funding research, specialist equipment and patient services, community fundraising also helps us improve the everyday environments within local cancer services, making the cancer journey more bearable for everyone involved.
To Angela, and to all of our supporters, thank you for helping us continue to make a real difference across Sussex.
