Nutrition, diet and weight loss medicines

Our main speaker, Kirsty Clutterbuck, Head and Neck Dietitian at the Sussex Cancer Centre, will discuss eating well during and after cancer treatment, including considerations surrounding weight loss medicines known as GLP-1s.

Alongside practical general dietary advice, Kirsty will introduce a research project she is developing to explore the experiences of people who have taken, or continue to take, weight loss medicines during cancer treatment. This includes understanding the impact on quality of life and mental wellbeing.

There will be time to ask questions, hear more about the research and find out about possible opportunities to become involved.

Confidence and life after treatment

Sue Brown from The Crossroads Coaching will explore rebuilding confidence, finding direction and adjusting to life after cancer treatment. You can also learn about the life coaching places funded by Sussex Cancer Fund.

Movement and wellbeing

Kieran Weeks, Physical Activity Coach for SCF Active Outlook, will introduce the programme’s tailored approach to supporting people before, during and after cancer treatment. Find out how to explore activity at a pace that suits you.

Money matters and practical support

Steve Burns from Citizens Advice will introduce benefits and financial support that may be available to people affected by cancer, with signposting to further information and services.
