Join our friendly support group for anyone affected by a blood cancer diagnosis. This month we welcome two guest speakers who will share new insights and answer your questions.
Topic
Stress hormones and chronic lymphocytic leukaemia (CLL)
Dr Emma Kennedy (Brighton & Sussex Medical School) and Professor Mel Flint (University of Brighton) will discuss their latest research investigating how stress hormones may influence CLL. Patients with CLL are often offered a “watch and wait” approach (sometimes described as “watch and worry”). Emma and Mel will explore what this means in practice and how their project aims to deepen understanding and support informed decisions.
Speakers
- Dr Emma Kennedy (BSMS) – Research Fellow focusing on the biology of stress and cancer.
- Professor Melanie (Mel) Flint (UoB) – Professor of Stress & Cancer Research.
