The SCF Funding Cancer Research

The SCF Funding Cancer Research
The Sussex Cancer Fund has supported two funding rounds for research projects so far this year:
- We jointly funded a 3 year PhD studentship to look into “Identifying patients most at risk of developing cancer research”
- we have funded several pump priming funds in a recent funding round organised by the Sussex Cancer Research Center
We will be running more funding rounds in the next 6 months, and if you are developing a research project and are interested in our support, please do contact us to discuss.
Application Submissions
The research projects that we have historically funded break down in to the 3 categories:
1) Studentships (either MD-Res or PhD) & Clinical Fellowships
2) Research & Innovation Projects
3) Small Projects
Applications for Small Projects are now open, please read below for the objectives set for these projects and for details on how to apply.
We are continuing to develop the application process for Studentships/Clinical Fellowships and Research & Innovation Projects. Meanwhile if you do have any such applications please do get in touch.
Small Projects
The Small Projects process is now live and we would welcome applications for Small research Projects where they meet the objectives and selection criteria.
Our small projects fund supports projects that can be delivered within two years and seek to improve the quality of clinical services and patient treatments and care.
The small projects have now been expanded to include Pump Priming projects which are looking for seed funding to develop results from proof of concept research which has a strong chance of justifying a larger follow on study. You can apply for such funding via the Sussex Cancer Research Centre at https://sussexcancer.org/funding
