Sadly today we said goodbye to our Business Ambassador Paul Wheatley.
Paul was a great friend to the Sussex Cancer Fund. What started as a simple birthday fundraiser, Paul soon became one of our most hardworking Business Ambassadors, contributing ideas, attending events, and helping us raise our profile.
Though only getting to know Paul during his most difficult times he was always a shining example of enthusiasm and positivity. Always offering to help and to add input in some of our more bizarre yet important fundraising ideas and events. The discussions we had regarding Easter chicks were very deep and endless, who knew there were so many ways to print a chicken. Our discussions often had us all in hysterics but Paul’s final chicks were amazing and gave a real boost to our fundraising efforts.
He was never somebody that had to be asked he was always someone that would offer first.
In a world where it can sometimes be difficult to put others first, Paul was always someone we could rely on and will be sorely missed by this small local charity that he gave so much time to.
Paul sadly passed away on 22nd June 2022. Paul was a great friend and a fantastic ambassador for the SCF. His humour and enthusiasm will be greatly missed.
