On Tuesday 2nd July 2019 we were delighted to attend ‘Where Cricket Meets Ladies Day’, an annual event held at the 1st Central County Ground in Hove. The Sussex Cancer Fund was lucky once again to be one of the beneficiaries of this fundraising event along with the cricket clubs own charity The Sussex Cricket Foundation.
The cricket for the day was Sussex CCC v Northamptonshire in the Specsavers County Championship. While the cricket was playing the guests enjoyed a 2-course meal and afternoon tea, with talks from The Sussex Cricket Foundation and Professor Chris Pepper on behalf of the Sussex Cancer Fund. Entertainment was provided by the fabulous Nina Gilligan.
There was a charity auction and heads & tails competition which raised over £3000 which was split between the two charities.
There was also a light-hearted ‘best dressed’ Lady and Gentleman chosen with the prestigious titles going to Peter Collins from Hartley Fowler and Lyndsey Mantripp from Humphrey & Co.
