The Sussex Cancer Fund was delighted to have been chosen as the charity being supported by the Seaford Striders running club’s annual Mince Pie Ten Race, which was held on 8th December.
This Saturday we were again delighted to have been asked to attend their Club’s presentation evening. After hearing the fantastic achievements of all the runners and club members accepting awards, the Sussex Cancer Fund had the opportunity to share with the club some of the work that we do.
We were then presented with a cheque for an amazing £2500 by Race Director, Terry Ward.
We were made to feel so welcome and it was a real pleasure to be included in the Club’s celebration evening.
About the MincePie 10
The race is the Seaford Striders’ main fundraiser and supports a range of charities and this year the Sussex Cancer Fund was chosen. It is a very popular run and has been voted one of the UK’s top ten races by Runner’s World Magazine. The race attracts individuals and teams keen to undertake the 10-mile challenge in festive fancy dress as well as competitive runners. This year’s event included individuals dressed as elves, Santa’s helpers and Father Christmas himself AKA Rob the Club Chairman made an appearance!
The Mince Pie 10 starts and finishes at Peacehaven Leisure Centre before heading into countryside stretches around Telscombe and Saltdean.
Thank you once again for supporting the Sussex Cancer Fund and including us in your celebrations.
