Sidley XI vs Chris Milton XI memorial cricket match in aid of the Sussex Cancer Fund
In 2021, the Sidley Cricket Club lost a dear friend and much-loved member Chris ‘Millers’ Milton.
A message from the Club
Millers bravely battled cancer for many years but it never stopped him smiling. He loved making people laugh and had the most infectious personality. He listened, always made time for others, and our lives are that much better for having known him. We wanted to honour Millers, and it felt only right that our first match at St Mary’s Recreation Ground should be dedicated to his memory.
On Sunday 30 July, we will be hosting a Sidley XI v Chris Milton XI memorial cricket match in aid of the Sussex Cancer Fund – a cause chosen by Chris’s wife, Babs.
The match will also commemorate Keith Bradshaw and Cavan O’Connor Senior – two other members of the Sidley Cricket Club family that we have sadly lost in recent years. The day will also be a celebration of the club’s achievements in getting St Mary’s Rec fit to host competitive cricket.
The juniors will kick things off with a game from 10.30am, before the memorial match gets underway at 1pm.
Our friends at Pebbles On The Beach will be running a delicious barbecue and bar from midday, and there will be a raffle. Please note all payments will be card only, except for donations which can be cash.
We hope you’ll join us for what will be a momentous occasion, for a very worthy cause, and in memory of a remarkable man.
All those attending are asked to please use the parking on-site at St Mary’s Rec.
