Our Business Ambassadors

Businesses that donate to charity are incredibly generous and invaluable to charities such as The Sussex Cancer Fund. We have a number of hard-working businesses that donate to charity. Our Business Ambassadors not only support the Sussex Cancer Fund but also help raise awareness of the work we do. If you would like to become an ambassador for us and be one of our many businesses that donate to charity, you can find out more about it here.

Annie Broe, an owner of one of the many businesses that donate to charityAnnie Broe, Conveyancing Solicitor and Secondary Breast Cancer Patient.

I have worked at Engleharts Solicitors since January 2004, chiefly as a residential conveyancing assistant, and my role entails being involved with clients through the process of property sales and purchases, remortgages and lease extensions. There is, of course, the legal aspect to all of these matters (which is undertaken by the solicitor with conduct of the file), but also of importance is the personal assistance I can give to clients to reassure and guide them through what can often be a confusing, frustrating and nerve-wracking experience, and that is what I enjoy.

So to be of some assistance to people in my situation would be an absolute honour and pleasure. Because I have been through the breast cancer treatment process, and am now benefiting from treatment for secondary breast cancer, I can really speak from my heart about how it affects me.

Annie sadly passed away on 23rd January 2020. She was an inspiration to all and a fantastic ambassador for SCF. She will be very missed.

Phil Harris, an ambassador for businesses that donate to charityPhil Harris, Director at FRP Advisory.

I am a director at FRP Advisory in the restructuring team based in Brighton. My role is to provide independent, professional advice to individuals, business owners and their stakeholders who are experiencing financial and operational distress. Often I am advising people who are incredibly stressed and uncertain which way to turn. The most satisfying part of my job is providing the client with a way forward and seeing them leave my office in a better place mentally and emotionally. Both my friends and family have been impacted by cancer in some way, and it appears to be one the rise. I lost my dad at a very early age to lung cancer when I was only 5. When I heard about the great work that the Sussex Cancer Fund does, I had to get involved, and I am proud to have been accepted as an ambassador to the charity. We are very thankful to Phil and the FRP advisory for being one of the businesses that donate to charity.

Jacqui Trott, an ambassador for businesses that donate to charityJacquie Trott, Director of Property Rentals & Sales.

“My company is Property Rentals & Sales. We’re an independent family run Estate Agency located in Eastbourne and have been established since 1990. We basically cover East Sussex from Saltdean to Bexhill, Lewes to Hailsham for lettings and sales. We pride ourselves on offering a professional yet personal service to all our clients. Take a look at our website for further information.

I’m supporting SCF because until recently, I wasn’t aware of how much the Charity funds the support given to patients, I imagined it to be given by the NHS. From supplying updated magazines & refreshments in the waiting areas to building treatment units, SCF is an extremely important benefactor to those in receipt of treatment and their aftercare support is fantastic offering nutrition and physical advice. I also have friends and family who have received support via SCF .” We are very thankful to Jackie, for being one of our businesses that donate to charity.
