Applications For Small Project Funding (<£20k).
Our Small Projects Fund is primarily aimed at projects that can deliver results within two years and which are seeking to improve the quality of clinical services and patient treatments and care. The fund is open to applications from doctors, nurses and other allied health professionals (AHPs).
The fund can also support other small projects including:-
- Supplementary funding for existing or new projects that have been through a rigorous peer review process and have a clear line of sight for patient benefit. Such projects may well have received significant funding from other research bodies but still need relatively small supplementary funding for the project – for example for some additional consumables, and small project extensions.
- Pump-priming funds to support proof of concept research that have a clear path towards follow-on funding if the pump-priming project delivers the anticipated results.
All projects will need to demonstrate clear support from senior clinical leads in a Sussex-based hospital trust and/or senior research leaders.
Applications should be received by midnight on the 20th of September 2024. All applications will then be assessed by the SCF Research Committee in consultation with independent medical experts based in Sussex. We aim to confirm which projects have been successful by 20th October 2024, dependant on the number of applications received.
